Cube Optics - Fiber Optical Transport Solutions

FBT Coupler and PLC Splitter

Splitters and Couplers in all shapes and sizes

HUBER+SUHNER Cube Optics offers a complete portfolio of PLC splitters and FBT couplers. Basically, the functionality of both is the same – they divide an incoming optical signal into a larger number of outgoing signals. The main difference is that FBT couplers are more suitable for lower splitting ratios (up to 1:8) whereas PLC splitters are also suitable for high splitting ratios (1:64).

Regardless of the type, splitters and couplers are used in various different applications which has a direct influence on the required form factor. Huber+Suhner Cube Optics has used the decades of experience in developing and integrating optical components to put together a complete and comprehensive portfolio of splitter/coupler solutions.

Splitter and Coupler Product Lineup Overview

Based on our extensive knowledge on passive optical components combined with the decades of experience of working closely with customers, the splitter and coupler product line up is the most complete and comprehensive on the market.

Splitter Cube X

The Splitter Cube X product range is a product line-up with high splitting ratios such as 1:64 or 2:32.

Splitter Cube Integrated

Splitter Cube Integrated is synonym for all enclosures into which we integrate splitters and couplers.

Splitter Cube Components

We also offer the components that we build into the different form factors separately as Splitter Cube Components.

Splitter Cube X

The Splitter Cube X products are based on a 19" 1 RU enclosure. The line-up includes various different products with high splitting ratios such as 1:64 or 2:32. In addition, we also offer the Splitter Cube X 19" chassis with multiple low splitting ratio modules resulting in 22x 1:4 or even 33x 1:2.

Please get in contact with us if you would like to find out more about our Splitter Cube X offering.

Splitter Cube Integrated

HUBER+SUHNER Cube Optics is a world-leading expert when it comes to integrating passive optical components into enclosures with drastic space constraints. More often than enough we are able to integrate more functionality in less space than others are able or willing to do.

The enclosures we integrate the splitter/coupler functionality of course includes the various HUBER+SUHNER form factors such as IANOS, LiSA or SYLFA, to name a few. However, we also integrate into other suitable enclosures which also includes those of our competitors.

Splitter Cube Integrated – Benefits

Modularity

We also integrate the splitters and couplers into our modular Network Cube X enclosures making it possible to combine WDM and splitters/couplers in the same 1RU chassis

More in less Space

HUBER+SUHNER is a specialist when it comes to fitting components in confined spaces. We are therefore able to integrate more splitter/coupler functionality than most others in the same space.

Vendor Agnostic

We integrate splitters and couplers into any suitable enclosure. This not only includes the various HUBER+SUHNER enclosures but also enclosures from our competitors.

Splitter Cube Components

For those cases where it isn't preferable to have the splitter/coupler functionality in an enclosure, we also offer a complete range of FBT coupler and PLC splitter components. This also includes various power split ratios such as 90/10, 30/30/30/10 or similar.

Especially when it comes to large volumes, we are the perfect partner. We have developed special transport packaging for the components that reduces the size by more than 50% compared to traditional transport packaging. This obviously has a huge impact on the transport cost.
